Using Type to Enrich Couples' Coping Strategies
led by Roger Pearman, Ed.D

As we explore type-related issues in a couples context, how can type be a resource and enrich coping strategies?

For years, after a leadership development program, managers and executives would ask if there was a way for their spouses to be introduced to personality type and for them as a couple to explore how their types interact in the context of their marriage. A program, Corporate Couples (http://www.corporatecouples.com/), was developed to meet this need. The program includes an extensive introduction to type dynamics in the context of couple relationships and challenges, especially in dealing with conflict and stress. As the workshop unfolds, couples learn how their type differences can unwittingly trigger stressful emotional responses in one another as well as how their types are a significant resource.

This presentation will explore how we use personality type, how we explore type-related issues in a couples context, and how to use type to enrich coping strategies.
